Marcello Lippi expects “a great game” tonight between Inter and Napoli. “Claudio Ranieri has pushed the right buttons.”

The two title contenders go head-to-head at San Siro this evening, kick-off at 19.45 UK time.

“Both teams are fired up after enthusiasm-boosting victories in the Champions League on Tuesday, so I think we're going to see a great game,” the former Coach of both clubs told Calciomercato.it.

“On the one hand Walter Mazzarri is right to say it's too early to call anything a Scudetto decider, but on the other you can't deny Ranieri has a point when defining this a title clash, because if Inter win then they really will be right back in the race.”

The Nerazzurri seemed to be heading for disaster when Gian Piero Gasperini was sacked without a single victory, but Ranieri has won both games in charge.

“Their players are all professionals and I've no doubt they gave their all with the former Coach too, but evidently Ranieri has pushed the right buttons,” continued Lippi.

“Napoli have every right to dream, especially when the team is playing at such a high level.”

Lippi has been out of work since the dismal 2010 World Cup experience in South Africa, but feels ready for his return under specific circumstances.

“I am evaluating some proposals both within and outside Europe from national teams and clubs. We'll see what happens. What I can say for certain is that I won't work as a Coach in Italy again. I've done my work here.”
