Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet had been linked with Roma, but it’s reported this evening a deal has been done for him to join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
The 27-year-old centre-back is not part of the Blaugrana’s plans for the 2022-23 season, despite being under contract until June 2026.
There were some suggestions he had been an option for Jose Mourinho’s Roma over the last few days in the Italian and Spanish media.
However, Sky Sport Italia and others are confident this evening a deal has been done for Lenglet to join Tottenham.
It will be a loan deal and some sources suggest there could also be an option to buy included.
The France international has 15 senior caps for his country and had been in Spain since joining Sevilla in January 2017, then made the €36m move to Barcelona in the summer of 2018.
In the 2021-22 campaign, Lenglet made only 27 competitive appearances for the Catalan club, contributing one assist.
