That was a wake-up call and Max Allegri shakes things up, although some of the decisions are forced upon him.

Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli are all out injured, so it’s the first time since March 11, 2012 that all three members of the BBC haven’t been in the squad.

Juan Cuadrado is also on the treatment table, with Wojciech Szczesny rested in favour of Mattia Perin.

The good news is that Miralem Pjanic and Mandzukic make their full comebacks into the starting XI, with Caceres immediately thrown into the back four after the transfer from Lazio.

This is the Uruguay international’s third stint in a Bianconeri jersey and he is joined by Leonardo Spinazzola in his first Serie A start for the club.

Alberto Grassi, Nicola Rigoni, Francisco Sierralta and new buy Abdou Diakhate are unavailable, but Leo Stulac returns for a spot on the bench.

That leaves Matteo Scozzarella in midfield with Juraj Kucka, while Jonathan Biabiany completes the trident attack with Roberto Inglese and Gervinho.
