This is the Azzurri’s first game since thrashing Armenia 9-1 in the Euro 2020 qualifiers in November and they are currently on an all-time record run of 11 consecutive victories.

Roberto Mancini is without Marco Verratti, Sandro Tonali and Federico Bernardeschi, while Jorginho is not in the starting XI, as he only joined the training camp on Tuesday due to COVID restrictions.

It was a choice between Roma teammates Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolò Zaniolo in the three-man midfield, while Belotti takes the centre-forward role flanked by Chiesa and Insigne, as Ciro Immobile will start against the Netherlands on Monday.

Alessandro Florenzi and Giorgio Chiellini return to the Italy squad, as they begin the build-up to the delayed European Championship, but the Juventus veteran is initially on the bench in favour of Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi.

Bosnia are missing Miralem Pjanic, who tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of his Barcelona transfer, so Roma hitman Dzeko is the only Serie A representative in the starting XI.

Besim Serbecic and Rade Krunic also pulled out with injury, replaced by Amir Hadziahmetovic, Adnan Kovacevic and Luka Menalo.

Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac has been named as a target for both Napoli and Roma, but it’s a relatively revamped side under a new coach.

Veteran Dusan Bajevic came out of his seven-year retirement to help salvage Bosnia’s Euro 2020 campaign in the play-offs against Northern Ireland in December, but those were postponed, so it became a longer project than he was originally looking for.

This will be his debut on the Bosnia bench and his first management job since 2012.

Bosnia played Italy twice in Euro 2020 qualifying and lost both home and away, although they did take the lead in the 2-1 loss in Turin’s Allianz Juventus Stadium.
