Also known as the Derby della Scala, traditionally Hellas are the bigger club, famed for more attacking football and threatened to break into the race for Europe last season.

On the other hand, Chievo were named the ‘Flying Donkeys’ because Hellas said donkeys would fly when their city rivals made it to the top flight.

They’ve been fairly stable just surviving in Serie A thanks to a defensive approach and being solid at the back, but the roles have been reversed this season.

Chievo have played some very attractive football and caused upsets by crushing Lazio 4-0 and holding Juventus 1-1 in Turin.

Verona are still without a victory and the injury crisis is only slightly calming down.

Luca Toni, Giampaolo Pazzini, Mohamed Fares, Romulo, Artur Ionita and Rafael Marquez are all unavailable.

Luca Siligardi is back in the squad, but only fit for a spot on the bench.

Juanito Gomez Taleb is therefore pushed into a centre-forward role.
