Federico Dimarco has signed a contract extension with Inter until June 2026 and it is more than just a club for him. ‘I’ve been going to the stadium since I was two years old.’

The 24-year-old left-back is from Milan and came up through the Inter youth academy, joining when he was only seven years old.

Dimarco went out on various loans at Ascoli, Empoli, FC Sion, Parma and Hellas Verona.

He returned to base in the summer and new coach Simone Inzaghi was won over by his performances, urging the club to keep hold of him this time.

Not only that, but Dimarco has also now earned a new contract to June 2026, adding three years to his previous deal and giving him a pay rise.

It was the easiest of negotiations for the club, because Dimarco wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his career in this jersey.

“I have been going to the stadium to watch Inter games since I was two years old,” declared Dimarco.

“This is certainly not a jersey like any other for me. I’ve been an Interista since birth and even when I was on loan at Verona, the fans kept asking me to return. I feel loved here.”

He scored his debut Serie A goal in the Inter jersey with a screamer of a free kick into the top corner against Sampdoria on September 12.
