Stephan Lichtsteiner admits he will “miss Italy a great deal, but Arsenal’s project reminds me of Juventus from seven years ago.”

The Swiss international has joined Arsenal as a free agent after spending most of his career in Serie A, at Lazio from 2008-2011 and then in Turin.

“I will miss Italy a great deal. I was happy at Lazio and even happier at Juventus,” Lichtsteiner told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’ll certainly come back here for my vacations and to see my friends again.

“Arsenal are a great club with a wonderful project, it reminds me of Juventus from seven years ago, when our objective was to get right back into the Champions League.”

That proved to be the start of seven consecutive Serie A titles.
