The two Serie A clubs continue to plan for next season and seem to be on a similar wavelength when it comes to management options.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Roma have put a three-year deal on the table for Mourinho, but he would only accept if they qualified for the Champions League.

The other major alternative for Mou at the moment is Paris Saint-Germain, but they seem inclined to back Thomas Tuchel, even with recent poor results.

Mourinho and Conte are both on the same radar for Roma as well as Inter, with negotiations reported to be finely balanced.

Roma have not disguised their interest in signing ex-Chelsea boss Conte, but La Repubblica claim that Inter director Beppe Marotta met with Conte this week and asked him to wait before signing anything.

That is because Nerazzurri President Steven Zhang is ready to give the all-clear on Conte and a huge transfer campaign to bolster the squad.

Il Tempo newspaper points to a potentially fascinating extra that could aid Conte’s move back to Italy and boost his salary by €3m.

The latest tax law change is meant to encourage Italian talent that has emigrated looking for work to return to the Peninsula and save cash on their wages.

It would also apply to football players and tacticians, meaning Conte could in theory receive €16m per season on a three-year contract.
