L’Equipe: Juventus rebel Ronaldo pushing for Man City move

by | Aug 24, 2021 18:22

After a member of the Al-Thani family posted an image of Cristiano Ronaldo in a PSG shirt, now L’Equipe claim the Juventus star is trying to engineer a move to Manchester City in exchange for Bernardo Silva.

The decision to leave CR7 initially on the bench for Sunday’s 2-2 Serie A draw with Udinese continues to fuel reports of an imminent Ronaldo exit.

It is widely believed both parties would be more than happy to go their separate ways this summer, but Juve need a club to pay both at least €30m for the transfer fee and cover his €30m per season salary.

There are only a few clubs who can do both and it seems to have been narrowed by PSG or Manchester City.

L’Equipe claim this evening that Ronaldo is trying to engineer a transfer to Manchester City, contacting players within the squad and pushing to create the circumstances for a move.

That includes Bernardo Silva, who could in theory move to Juventus as part of an exchange deal, or even Aymeric Laporte.

City have reportedly offered €150m for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, but Ronaldo would be a far more affordable and proven option upfront.

The report in France insists Ronaldo believes a deal can be done by this weekend.

It comes after a member of the Al-Thani family, who run Paris Saint-Germain, posted an image of Lionel Messi and Ronaldo standing side-by-side wearing PSG kits and the message: “Maybe?”

Lets see juve without his 100+ goals now. Some juve fans Probably thinks Morata is better tham him.

Look at the stats before Ronaldo came …. The goals have always been there!!!

Let the one man Ronaldo show end quickly and let everyone go there separate ways happily.

Funny how it’s being reported by a French paper and not English or Italian papers. Now that they have Messi they need to keep the rivalry in the paper. What better way to do it then a crazy transfer

Go the most selfish player of all time

  7. who me

not a juve fan, but am a Serie A fan. id rather have the goat stay in italy at least for 1 more season in final years of greatness. Ronaldo has given juve so many goals and chances at a CL trophy. they failed him.

Why doesn’t he go to PSG? Does he not want to play with Messi? Seems selfish childish.

If Ronaldo really wants to leave and goes to PSG .. exchange him with Donnarumma and get Belotti (he’ll get better service at Juve than at Torino and score a lot .. and is very hard working team player) for now .. try Haaland next season ….

EDIT PREVIOUS POST: If Ronaldo really wants to leave and goes to PSG .. exchange him with Keylor Navas + Cash (sadly Donnarumma is lost cause) and get Belotti (he’ll get better service at Juve than at Torino and score a lot .. and is very hard working team player) for now .. try Haaland next season …..
