Giovanni Leoni has passed his Liverpool medical tests and is ready to complete his transfer for €31m plus €4m add-ons and a 10 per cent cut of the sell-on from Parma.

The central defender flew out this morning and went through all the necessary check-ups on Merseyside.

Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano both confirm that the tests went well, although an announcement is not expected until at least Friday.

The 18-year-old is sold for €31m plus €4m in performance-related bonuses, while Parma also receive a 10 per cent cut of the future sale fee.

This makes him the fourth most lucrative sale in the history of Parma, beaten only by Hernan Crespo, Gianluigi Buffon and Lilian Thuram.

Meanwhile, transfer pundit Romano also points out that Leoni will put pen to paper on a six-year contract rather than the usual five.

The teenager is set to celebrate his 19th birthday in December and makes this move to the Premier League off the back of just 17 Serie A appearances.

  1. there goes his career .with all that’s happening to Italians in epl not sure why they are still going there.. calafiori, chiesa are sitting on the bench most of the time another Italian name will be added this season

  2. bit dramatic, he’s only 18. Also you said “all Italians in EPL”, but failed to mention that Udogie and Vicario start every game for Spurs
