PSG director Leonardo hits back at Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic: ‘He can’t stop talking about us, he tried to come back several times.’

The Swede had criticised the Ligue 1 giants in his new book Adrenaline, revealing that he even offered his services to replace Leonardo as the club’s sporting director. Ibrahimovic believes the Ligue 1 giants dressing room lacks discipline. The 40-year-old spent four seasons in Paris, scoring 156 goals in 180 matches before joining Manchester United in 2016.

Leonardo hit back at the Milan striker in an interview with L’Equipe.

“I don’t even want to answer. Indiscipline, where is it? I think there’s a reason every time a player leaves PSG, he can’t stop talking about us,” he said.

“Everyone wants to come. Zlatan tried several times to come back. I’m still waiting for his interview to thank PSG for everything they’ve done for him. PSG existed before and after him. But tell me, where is the indiscipline?”

Ibrahimovic is currently recovering from an Achilles tendon injury and has been out of action at Milan since the end of January. He is expected to miss the upcoming Serie A clash against Napoli, but Milan could extend his expiring contract despite his physical issues.

The Rossoneri legend Alessandro Costacurta has said that the Diavoli ‘no longer need’ the Swede, although he would still offer him a contract extension until 2023.

  1. Why then do you change coach every 18 months? Players can’t stop talking about you because you pay the most.

  2. Doesn’t come across as very professional for a sporting director to get into media spats with ex players, demonstrates a lack of discipline…

  3. Good man Leonardo just trying to protect his club and his image here. There’s obviously indiscipline there, and it’s to be expected with all those big egos on bloated salaries.

They should’ve won something in Europe already, but even Man City with more discipline haven’t managed to do so.

  4. I’m gonna choose to remember Leo fondly as the player he was. Not as the man who got sent off for an elbow in the ’94 world cup, mind you, that was just an ‘indiscioline mishap,’ but at the player he was for the club that he achieved greatness with. Before he failed as a coach. Before he went to oitlr biggest rivals. Before he started flirting with players still contracted with the club he once claimed to love.

I’m gonna remember his goals… His management and especially the sporting management I’m gonna let be.

Even I could make a winning team with the checkbook at his disposal. Somehow he hasn’t yet .
