Pietro Leonardi admits he is concerned by what he saw from Parma in a Week 1 defeat to newly-promoted Cesena.
The Ducali opened their 2014-15 campaign with a surprise 1-0 reverse to their Emilia-Romagna rivals.
Their sporting director was asked post match if this was the result of the club’s failure to obtain a UEFA Licence and make it into the Europa League as they otherwise would have with their sixth place League finish for 2013-14

“I have nothing to say, but I think that what has happened in recent months has had a great influence,” Leonardi has told reporters afterwards.
“We have lost an incredible game. If this is the reaction to what happened, I have nothing to say. We did not play with the right spirit.
“I hope it is just a dreadful night and that our season will begin with Milan. We have to regroup and start over. It would be hard if it was a psychological block – I hope not.
“We are professionals and we have to take responsibility. I am sorry for our fans. I am very disappointed and worried – we can stand losing in football, but it should arrive only in another way.”
