The Brazilian midfielder who plays his international football for Italy has hinted many times over the past few days that he would like a January transfer to Paris.

His agent even suggested last night’s 2-0 defeat to Napoli could be Motta’s final match in a Nerazzurri jersey.

“We like Thiago Motta,” Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo told RTL radio.

“We are evaluating the situation, but the Nerazzurri want to keep him and for a few days we have to wait, because we cannot close the deal unless Inter give the all-clear.”

It was reported this morning that the €8m was considered insufficient for a player signed for €14m in the summer of 2009.

Meanwhile, there was a frightening moment for PSG and Italy goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, as French media claim he had his car windscreen smashed in a road rage incident.
