All sport has been suspended in the midst of the pandemic, which has claimed over 3,400 lives in Italy.

Lentini gave an interview to Tuttosport and spoke about the disease, and also his old side Torino.

“At the moment only health matters, but the wise decision to postpone Euro 2020 will allow the leagues to recover,” Lentini told the Turin daily.

“It all depends on when you return to normal. My feeling is that it will still be a long way off.

“There may be times to close the sporting season, but I think it will be inevitable to play in the summer and foresee a holiday period in the autumn.”

Torino had been on a bad run of form before Serie A shut down, so how does he see things panning out once play resumes?

“Here, the Coronavirus has brought little positivity, except for the opportunity it gives Moreno Longo and his players.

“When and if it starts again, the Granata will be able to start from scratch, just like if it was the beginning of the league.”
