“Udinese and Sevilla made the first moves, but in June Olympique Marseille had no intention of selling the player,” agent Yvan Le Mee told Tuttosport.

“Udinese and Sevilla made the first moves, but in June Olympique Marseille had no intention of selling the player,” agent Yvan Le Mee told Tuttosport.
“In August Juventus stepped up and then Napoli. It’s the first time I have seen a player turn down more money.
“Lemina would’ve earned almost €1m more per season if he had gone to England. Napoli also made a more advantageous offer to Marseille and higher wages for the player.
“However, Mario wanted at all costs to join Juventus and I wanted to keep the word I’d given to Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici.
“It was not easy to convince the Marseille President, but in the end he too realised Mario only had the Bianconeri in mind.
“His objective is to become the Claude Makelele of Juve.”
As well as Napoli, Lemina had been linked with Premier League sides Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton.
