Lucas Leiva insists Lazio ‘have a good chance of winning’ away to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, even if it’ll be ‘different’ to the Olimpico meeting.

It kicks off on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT and is a head-to-head for the top spot, as the Germans have eight points and the Aquile seven.

“We played well in the first game, but tomorrow will be different,” said Leiva in his press conference.

Lazio opened their Champions League campaign by beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.

“Dortmund are a different prospect on their own turf and it’s going to be difficult. If we play the way we did in the last few games, then we still have a good chance of winning.

“This team has shown its hunger and took the perfect approach in the last four Champions League matches, so we’ve got to keep going like that.

“Naturally, Dortmund would’ve been even more dangerous on their own turf if it had been full of fans, so we want to make the most of the situation.”

Lazio also have to get over a disappointing Serie A result this weekend, a shock 3-1 home defeat to Udinese.

“I don’t believe that bad performance was due to the distraction of the Champions League. We lost because we didn’t do enough to deserve victory. Facing Borussia Dortmund is the perfect opportunity to show what we can do.”
