“I believe the real challenge is not with Juventus, but with ourselves,” Leiva told Terra.
“Lazio have to pick up where we left off, revitalising ourselves and believing that it’s possible, because there are only a dozen games to go.”
The Brazilian midfielder timed his knee surgery well, as he’s now ready to get back on the pitch with his teammates after a two-month lockdown.
“It wasn’t easy and I was not that sure about whether to have the operation, especially as going into a hospital during the height of the pandemic was like walking into the eye of a storm.
“I used the time to get my knee back in shape and it all went well, so I am enjoying the advantages of this decision.”
