Leicester City have set their sights on Club Brugge talent Charles De Ketelaere, providing the interested Milan with some competition this summer.

The 21-year-old Belgian forward is coming off a great season in Belgium, netting 14 goals and providing seven assists in 33 Jupiler Pro League appearances. He’s a tactically flexible and creative trequartista, who can also play a number of other roles up front.

As reported by Belgian outlet RTL Sports, Milan are keen to pick up the 21-year-old De Ketelaere this summer, but they’ll have to face off against Leicester City, who are looking to strengthen their attack after a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Club Brugge want around €40m for the Belgian talent, who is contracted to the club until 2024. The Rossoneri have not made a concrete move yet but things are expected to progress as the summer progresses.

De Ketelaere would be a strong addition to Stefano Pioli’s squad in Milan and his tactical flexibility would not doubt come in handy.

6 thought on “Leicester City emerge for Milan target De Ketelaere”
  1. Not necessarily @Vero Rossonero… Leicester can’t offer the lad CL football or the chance to play for one of Europes top clubs. Signing for Leicester is always going to feel like he’s nearly there, with ACM he’s made it.

  2. Well, they did steal Fofana a couple of years ago by outbidding us, but that ended well after all, as after missing on him AND our next target Simakan, we ended up signing Tomori!

The fact that weak English teams in the bottom half of the table can outspend top Serie A sides is extremely annoying though.

I guess in this case it comes down to the player and how ambitious he is.

  3. you would have never guessed paolo maldini was once the long time Italy captain the way he seeks out foreign players.

of course he’s made sure at least 1 Italian has a spot — his son.

  4. I’d probably guess that Maldini has sought out players to win the scudetto regardless of where they come from. The days of the 3 foreigners per team went out years ago with the introduction of the EU. It has changed the way football is payed by removing any type of national characteristics or identity. Entertainment over results.

  5. @Brandon, I was under the impression Maldini’s job was to build the best team Milan‘s budget can afford in whatever market. Building the Italian national team is Mancini’s job.
