"With desire and faith, I say that I want to stay at Milan," he told Sky Sport 24. "I've been happy here, even if I have played just 33 minutes.

"I wasn't able to give my contribution as I would have liked. I still need to speak with the club and I will accept whatever decision is taken.

"I want to stay though, that is my wish, but I do not know what will happen with regards to my future."

It's unclear if Legrottaglie will sign a new deal as Milan have netted Philippe Mexes from Roma on a free transfer.
