The Lega Serie A President Gaetano Micciché confirms “there’s the possibility” of supporting Gabriele Gravina for FIGC President.

Elections in January failed to return a President, who must achieve at least 75 per cent of the vote, which is split between seven groups.

The groups are Serie A, Serie B, the Players’ Union, the Lega Pro, the Coach’s Union, the Referees’ Association and the Amateur League.

However, due to the voting structure not all are equal, with the Amateur League controlling around 34 per cent of the vote.

Gravina achieved 39 per cent in the previous elections, and met with the Serie A clubs today.

“Gravina is a person we know and respect,” Micciché said after the meeting.

“We talked about what must be a new phase of management of football and sport, and we want to present out programme to Gravina as soon as possible to see if his ideas match up with ours.

“There’s the possibility of supporting his candidacy.”
