Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have identified Weston McKennie as a top target for next month’s transfer window.
The Premier League side currently sit 16th in the table and are keen to reinforce their midfield ahead of a possible relegation battle in the second half of the season.
As reported by British tabloid The Sun, the 23-year-old McKennie is one of their top targets for the January transfer window, but the English side face an uphill battle.
The American midfielder, who is contracted to Juventus until 2025, is not ready to give up yet in Turin and wants to fight for his place in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
Bielsa is a fan of McKennie’s technical characteristics and believes that he could be a strong replacement for Kalvin Phillips, who is wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 23-year-old American has made 17 appearances across the league and Champions League so far this campaign for the Bianconeri, but has struggled to convince Allegri of his qualities.
