Milan face competition from Leeds United for Club Brugge midfielder Charles De Ketelaere, claim Sky Sport Italia.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, Premier League outfit Leeds are now in the running for the 21-year-old talent.

The €30m asking price has proved a sticking point with the Rossoneri, who are currently hamstrung by the delays in completing the takeover and signing directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara to new contracts.

While Milan are in the Champions League and are fresh from winning the Serie A title, Leeds only narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.

De Ketelaere has been described as the new Kevin de Bruyne, able to play as a trequartista behind the striker, on the right wing or even as a False 9.

The product of the Club Brugge youth academy is under contract until June 2024 and scored 18 goals with 10 assists in 49 competitive games for his team this season.

Despite only being 21, De Ketelaere already has eight senior caps for Belgium, scoring one goal.

  1. Let’s be real, Milan will not be purchasing this player or anyone near his price tag. This ownership fiasco will sink our mercato. We’ll end up signing some 20-year-old from Equatorial Guinea and a 36-year-old Italian fullback for a combined €11m, or some other illogical nonsense.
