Leeds United are expected to release Italian defender Giuseppe Bellusci from his contract shortly.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Bellusci’s Leeds adventure “can be said to be over” as his contract prepares to be terminated.

Greek side PAOK have been installed as the favourites to sign the former Italy Under-21 international, although Di Marzio notes Serie B sides Cremonese and Novara are both also in the running.

Bellusci made 61 appearances for the English Championship outfit but was loaned to relegated Empoli last season and regularly came under criticism for his performances at Elland Road.
