Il Corriere dello Sport claims Leeds striker Wilfried Gnonto has been offered to Roma, but the Giallorossi are not convinced about the deal as they are searching for a new, classic, centre forward.

Roma’s search for a new striker is still ongoing. The Giallorossi have given up on Brazilian talent Marcos Leonardo and continue monitoring Atalanta‘s Duvan Zapata, Braga’s Abel Ruiz and PSG’s Hugo Ekitiké.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Italy striker Gnonto is also an option for José Mourinho’s side.

The 19-year-old is pushing to leave Leeds after their relegation to the Championship and has been offered to Roma. Nevertheless, club director Tiago Pinto is unsure about negotiating with the English club given that Mourinho needs a classic centre forward.

According to the report, Gnonto is seen as a potential reinforcement in attack, but the club have other priorities for the role.

The situation may evolve in the next few days if Roma fail to get one of their primary targets, while Mourinho will hold a pre-match press conference today despite being suspended for the first game of the season against Salernitana tomorrow.

  1. All I will say is Roma are welcome to the petulant brat. But make sure we get a) a good price and b) that Roma pay up front. They have already had us over with the reneged LLorente deal. Get the money. I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could spit

  2. Strange that he has been “offered” to Roma since Leeds have apparently said he is not for sale! So, who exactly has “offered” him???
