The Lecce vs. Cremonese predictions for this weekend see two newly promoted sides face off at the Stadio Via del Mare. The hosts have had a decidedly better start to their campaign though, and sit a comfortable four points clear of their opponents.

  2. – Cremonese to score under 1.5 goals – 2/5
  3. – Both teams to score  – 5/6
  4. – Assan Ceesay to score anytime – 23/10
  5. – Gabriel Strefezza to score last – 6/1

Lecce host Cremonese on Sunday afternoon looking for a second consecutive win, having picked up their first three points on the last matchday. The Giallorossi side have been a welcome addition to the top-flight, even managing to take two points off current league leaders Napoli.

Marco Rossi’s side strengthened significantly over the summer and secured their win last time out without the likes of Lorenzo Colombo or Samuel Umtiti. If the manager is able to successfully integrate his new loanees, Lecce could impress further this season and are our tip to win on Sunday.

The campaign has not started so well for the visitors to the Stadio Via del Mare. Cremonese sit firmly in the relegation zone with seven matches played. The Grigiorossi are yet to win a game this season and have rarely looked capable of doing so, with their only two points coming against an underperforming Sassuolo and thanks to an Atalanta goalkeeper error.

One of the main concerns for Massimiliano Alvini will be his side’s inability to score goals, with just one of his forwards having netted so far this campaign. As a result, a bet on the visitors to score 1.5 goals or fewer could well pay off on Sunday.

Lecce have been relatively solid defensively this campaign and have conceded fewer goals than Inter with seven games played. That having been said, the Salentini are yet to keep a clean sheet this season meaning a punt on both teams to score in this weekend’s fixture may be an earner.

Fortunately for Marco Rossi, individual talent has succeeded in securing seven points. Assan Ceesay, a summer arrival from FC Zurich, has impressed sufficiently to keep Italian starlet Lorenzo Colombo out of the team and is our tip to score anytime.

Another new arrival in Gabriel Strefezza will be worth keeping an eye on, as the winger scored the winner against Salernitana off the bench. Blessed with plenty of pace and dribbling ability, the Brazilian could well make the difference against tired legs again this Sunday.

Lecce team news

Marco Baroni will have to decide whether to stick with the starting XI from the win over Salernitana or look to an impressive bench. Gabriel Strefezza scored the winner from the bench that day and will be hoping for a start, whilst loanees Lorenzo Colombo and Samuel Umtiti will be expecting to be amongst the first names on the team sheet.

Cremonese team news

Few changes are expected from Massimiliano Alvini despite Maissa Ndiaye’s potential return from injury. The manager is expected to stick with a front two of David Okereke and Criel Dessers, with Luca Zanimacchia supporting either from the flank or in an attacking midfield role.
