Cagliari’s Diego Farias has been linked with making a €6m move to the Stadio Via Del Mare in Apulia in recent days, while left-back Vera is close to finalising a deal.
“Farias isn’t the only player we are interested in, we are also waiting for Vera to arrive for his medical,” he said at his Press conference.
“We want to bring in seven or eight new players, that can help us do well in Serie A. Vera is coming, we have an agreement with him and his club and are now just waiting for him to arrive to do his medical.
“We are looking for another goalkeeper to add to the ones we have in the form of Mauro Vigorito, and Marco Bleve, we are looking for young players.
“Since I arrived here, we have always gone into pre-season training with a full squad and we want to do the same again this year.
“We are following Farias and we have contacted his representatives, but he’s not the only one, in fact, President Saverio Sticchi Damiani likes him a lot and he will make the final decision.
“Lorenzo Venuti may have been on loan, but was one of the stars of our promotion, and we attempted to sign him permanently from Fiorentina in January, but we couldn’t reach an agreement and we decided to leave it till the summer.
“However, we still have Riccardo Fiamozzi who plays in the same position and is recovering from injury. I confirm that we are not interested in goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski, as we are looking at players with different profiles.”
