Barring any major surprises, Milan expect to do without star winger Rafael Leao for their coming Champions League match with Borussia Dortmund.

The Rossoneri currently sit third in Group F after four games, picking up just five points, one less than Paris Saint-Germain and two less than Dortmund. With two games left to play, all four teams have a shot of qualifying for the knockout stages of Europe’s premier club competition.

Leao, who was the hero for Milan in their crucial win over PSG recently, was forced off the pitch in the 10th minute of the recent 2-2 draw with Lecce, suffering a concerning hamstring injury. He did not join the Portugal squad for this international break.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Leao’s recovery has not progressed as quickly as hoped in Milanello and now the club expect him to miss the coming match with Dortmund on November 28.

Some good news has arrived from the training ground, however. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to return to squad training today, allowing him to start working towards the must-win Champions League tie.
