Leao reacts as Motta says ‘Spezia deserved to beat Milan’

Rafael Leao reacted as Spezia coach Thiago Motta said the Aquilotti deserved to beat Milan at San Siro.

Thiago Motta’s men collected their third away win in a row in a thrilling match at the Stadio Meazza.

A late Junior Messias goal was wrongly cancelled out seconds before Emmanuel Gyasi’s winner.

Referee Marco Serra apologised to Milan players, but Motta, a former Inter midfielder, believes his side deserved to win.

“The lads deserve the praise, we knew it was a difficult game against a team that is in the race to win the title. We did well until the end,” he told DAZN.

Refereeing chaos in Milan’s defeat to Spezia: what happened

“We know that Milan are really strong, they have quality players, they are attacking-minded but can leave some space at the back and we made the most of it.

“We could have scored other goals in the second half and, overall, I believe we deserved to win… even if Leao doesn’t agree.”

The Milan striker was on his way to the team bus and heard Motta saying Spezia deserved to win, so he made sure the coach knew his point of view, as explained by DAZN.

However, the pitch reporter failed to clarify what Leao said or did.

There was another embarrassing moment when Luciano Spalletti arrived for his post-match interview from Bologna.

The DAZN anchorman asked if the coaches wanted to greet each other, but both remained silent, so Motta’s interview ended and Spalletti began to talk.
