Milan forward Rafael Leao put in an impressive performance as Portugal rose to a 3-1 victory away against Poland in the Nations League on Saturday evening, coming away as the highest-rated player on the pitch according to outlets in Portugal.

Leao impresses on international duty with Portugal

Though he did not end up on the scoresheet, he did hit the post, which resulted in an assist for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Leao was also denied the assist of the season after carrying the ball from his own half into the opposition penalty area, taking on five defenders in the process, only for Bruno Fernandes to hit the cut-back straight at Lukas Skorupski from a few yards out.

A Bola gave the Rossoneri star a rating of 8/10 for his performance against Poland. They claim that he ‘destroyed’ the Poland back-line, and that he was in perfect harmony with the rest of his teammates in a ‘stunning’ display.

All of Portugal’s starters were given ratings above 6/10, but Leao and Nuno Mendes were the only ones to come away with eights.
