Rafael Leao named Cristiano Ronaldo as one of his idols and he suggested that Milan Skriniar was the toughest defender he’s faced in Serie A.

The 22-year-old Portuguese winger is having a great season in Lombardy under Stefano Pioli, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. He is proving himself central to the project in Milan and the club are now hoping to tie him down to a new deal, as his current contract expires in 2024.

Speaking to his fans on Instagram, Leao first discussed if he’s happy in Milan.

“Yes I’m happy here. Will I score on Sunday? Hopefully, we’ll try. We’re fired up. My best goal is the one I scored against Benevento.”

He touched on some of his idols and made a joke about Ibrahimovic.

“Ronaldo, Mbappé, Neymar, Ronaldinho. I must also say Ibrahimovic, if I don’t talk about him he’ll kill me!”

The Milan winger revealed which player was the most difficult for him to face in Serie A.

“Skriniar, he is strong.”

Finally, Leao commented on what he’d like to achieve in his career.

“My biggest dream is to win the Champions League.”

Leao is incredibly close to lifting the Scudetto with Milan, who only need to beat Atalanta on Sunday to secure their first title in a decade.

  1. They only need to draw at Atalanta. This is the third article this week on Go that has stated winning on Sunday seals the scudetto… If Inter and Milan both win, the lead is still 2 points, and a loss in the final round gives Inter the victory if they win. This isn’t complicated… Why the errors?
