Rafael Leao had no doubts about Milan’s key player in their Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain, shining the spotlight on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The Rossoneri shook off their poor form and shined in their European victory, taking a 2-1 win over the Parisian giants thanks to goals from Leao and Olivier Giroud. The result puts Milan third in Group F, two points behind Borussia Dortmund and one behind PSG.
Loftus-Cheek was widely praised for his performance in Milan’s win, helping to drive the ball up the pitch and protect the Rossoneri midfield, guiding Stefano Pioli’s side to victory.
The English midfielder missed five matches over the last six weeks due to a muscle tear, and came off the bench in the recent 1-0 loss to Udinese, but showed no signs of rustiness in front of a packed Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Leao praised Loftus-Cheek on his Instagram page after the game, calling the midfielder Milan’s most valuable player.
