Reports in France claim PSG have decided to sack Mauricio Pochettino and Italian Antonio Conte offered his services to them, ready to walk away from Tottenham Hotspur.

Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title last night with a 1-1 draw against RC Lens, their 10th championship overall, eighth in the last nine seasons.

According to Le Parisien this evening, a meeting between PSG directors and Pochettino found neither eager to continue their experience together.

The same report also states that Conte offered himself to the Ligue 1 giants and proposed a two-year contract.

However, at the same time, Le Parisien claims Zinedine Zidane remains the first choice, although he is leaning more towards inheriting the France squad rather than accepting this club test.

Conte only just took the Tottenham job on November 2, 2021, managing 17 wins, four draws and 10 defeats in all competition.

The Italian tactician has not disguised his frustration with the lack of transfer activity and would relish the chance to work with Italy internationals Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti.

  1. Almost impossible to happen!!! Only if Mbappe leaves PSG and only if PSG directors are not interested in winning the Champions League

  2. Pochettino is the most overrated top flight mamanged. Fluked it to a final with Tottenham and demands crazy money. Well suited for PSG. Conte would be crazy to take that job. Messi there to retire and the rest are primadonnas…starting with Neymar.

  3. At least PSG used to go deep in Europe earlier. With Conte, getting past the group stage is typically an achievement. Regular moaning for funds and cathartic statements to press come for free.

  4. Neither Poche nor Conte seem to be suitable for PSG. Poche needs younger players who are ready to work hard and follow his way with high pressing and fluid four in attack, backed by high quality playmaker and settled defence with high-enough quality wing backs.
Conte needs his team to work and move consistently hard and follow the precise tactics that require high tactical discipline and professional nous across the pitch, esp wing backs.
At PSG they will not have a team ready to do all that. Unless they change the personnel drastically.

  5. Listen to @Ruicosta10. That’s exactly it. You can bring in whoever you want as coach but the huge egos at PSG won’t work with Conte’s style. I’m not sure anyone can work with Poche’s because he’s a one trick pony.

  6. Not a fan of spurs but I genuinely hope conte stays there and makes a good go of it! Healthy club, great new stadium, brilliant city, loyal fans, and he has the opportunity to mould a team in his own image! He goes to PSG and the only way he is seen as a success is if he wins the champions league! Since leaving juventus, he has moved around a bit too much!

  7. PSG want to win the Champions League more than anything, and Conte is surely not going to do that for them – he is totally hopeless in Europe.

  8. @Roman – name one team that Pochettino has done consistently well at? He’d take Juve apart because he only knows how to spend and pocket crazy sums of money. PSG can keep him.
So many turn on Conte but no one can doubt his ability. No coach can guarantee you the CL so if that’s their only goal, PSG has a huge problem.
