Antonio Conte has reportedly set his sights on many Serie A players, including Lazio‘s Manuel Lazzari, who would give Tottenham one more option on the right.

Lazzari, 27, joined the Biancocelesti in a €14m deal from SPAL in 2019.

He has played mainly as a right wing-back in a 3-5-2 system, but new Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is using him as a right-back in a 4-3-3 formation given that the Tuscan is not a fan of a three-man defence.

Earlier this week, La Gazzetta dello Sport mentioned Lazzari as one of the Serie A stars monitored by Conte.

His shopping list includes the likes of Marcelo Brozovic, Franck Kessié, Dusan Vlahovic, Milan Skriniar and Nicolò Barella.

However, the Nerazzurri are not open to selling their stars, especially Barella, whose contract extension with the Nerazzurri will be announced in the coming hours.

Conte’s transfer targets at Tottenham revealed

Conte is reportedly looking for defenders who can adapt to his 3-5-2 formation and Lazzari is seen as a perfect option on the right.

The Italy international has scored one goal in nine appearances in Serie A this season, but his contract with the Biancocelesti expires in June 2024.

Lazzari played over 200 games as a right-wing back during his career and only 22 as a right-back in a four-man defence.

Conte started Emerson Royal on the right in his first game in charge of Tottenham yesterday, but the Italian doesn’t seem to have many options on the flanks, given that neither Lucas Moura nor Son will be used as defensive wingers who can track back and help defensively.

Lazzari has two Italy caps to his name and made his debut in September 2018.

It remains to be seen if Lazio President Claudio Lotito will allow Lazzari to leave in January, given that he’s a regular starter under Sarri this term.

  1. Another player should be considered to get calling again for Azzurri, Calabria, Darmian and Lazzari is much better then Di Lorenzo and Florenzi
