The Aquile look to bounce back following a poor start to the season but these Lazio vs. Torinopredictions suggest a close game. Maurizio Sarri’s side have struggled with consistency and face a resolute Granata team.
1 – Lazio to win – 22/23
2 – Under 2.5 goals score – 6/5
3 – One team to score – 3/10
4 – Torino to keep a clean sheet – 16/5
5 – A draw at full-time – 8/3
Torino play the second part of their capital double-header on Wednesday evening, as they travel to face Lazio. The Granata go into this game just three days after a match against the Aquile’s city rivals Roma, testing the depth of their squad for the first time this season.
Ivan Juric’s did little to strengthen over the summer, instead making loan signings permanent and replacing like-for-like a right-back. One signing to get fans excited is Duvan Zapata though, but the Colombian’s start to life in Turin has not been as explosive as hoped.
Lazio, on the other hand, made a number of interesting moves over the summer, with the likes of Mateo Guendouzi, Daichi Kamada and Valentin Catellanos all joining. Given the Aquile are playing twice per week at the moment, this depth will be vital and may well give them the edge against Torino.
With fatigue likely to play a factor, and Zapata not yet scoring, the visitors may look to revert to last season’s defensive foundations. Juric’s side were one of the best teams at the back last season and will aim to limit Lazio’s attacking impetus on Wednesday. Of course, this is easier said than done, but we back Il Toro to keep the scoring under 2.5 goals at the Stadio Olimpico.
Past fixtures between the two sides suggest that we could well be in for a low-scoring midweek, clash with none of the last five meetings providing more than two goals.
In fact, Torino boast a particularly strong record against Lazio, with no defeats in any of these last five games, not to mention a victory in this fixture last year. The Granata have kept three clean sheets in those fixtures and it would come as no great surprise to see them hold the Aquile front line at bay yet again.
Should the visitors defenders perform to the best of their abilities, fans could be in for the most common result when these teams meet, with a draw further adding to Lazio’s worries this season.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Casale, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Rovella, Alberto; Pedro, Immobile, Zaccagni
Torino (3-5-2): Milinkovic-Savic; Schuurs, Buongiorno, Rodriguez; Bellanova, Tameze, Ricci, Lazaro; Seck, Radonjic; Zapata
With a hectic schedule, Maurizio Sarri may be forced into make some changes for Wednesday’s game. The coach has his full squad available, so may look to start the likes of Pedro, Nicolo Rovella, Luca Pellegrini and Matteo Guendouzi.
Ivan Juric is unlikely to make wholesale changes, despite having one day less rest than his opponents. Antonio Sanabria appears to have fallen out of favour with the coach, meaning Pietro Pellegri could start, while an injury to Mergim Vojvoda should see Valentino Lazaro start on the left flank again.
