Most Italian football focus will be on the Champions League this week but these Lazio vs. Torino predictions take a look at two clubs chasing European qualification.

Lazio vs. Torino odds

1 – Lazio to win – 5/6

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 6/4

3 – Both teams to score – 5/4

4 – Mattia Zaccagni to score at anytime – 3/1

5 – Lazio to win and both teams to score – 4/1

Ciro Immobile’s road traffic accident has been making most of the headlines related to Lazio this week but Maurizio Sarri will be aware that this game against Torino is an excellent opportunity for his side to consolidate a Champions League spot.

The Biancocelesti have quietly been going about their business near the top of the Serie A table, as most attention has been focused on Italy’s clubs in the Champions League quarter-finals. Lazio have now only lost two games since the turn of the year and have won all of their last four.

Last week’s 3-0 victory away at Spezia was fairly straightforward for the capital city club and another three points will be expected on Saturday.

Torino had been looking good for an outside chance of European qualification themselves until the last few weeks where a dip in form has seen them fall back into mid-table. A draw at home against Salernitana last week stopped the rot but results will need to improve.

The Granata have managed to score goals this season though, so backing both teams to score at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend is probably a good shout. Torino may not be able to come away from Rome with any points however.

This should be a fairly even game for the main part but Lazio do have the stronger players, even without Immobile – and it could be Mattia Zaccagni who is the one that pops up to score the crucial goals.

Lazio team news

Maurizio Sarri will be disappointed that he is forced to do without Immobile once again after his injury-hit season. He may look to bring in Pedro and push Mattia Zaccagni into a central striking role. He will also be with the suspended Danilo Cataldi. Marco Antônio could come in as a replacement in the middle of the field.

Torino team news

Ivan Jurić has no real fresh injury worries and should be able to call upon Samuelo Ricci even though he was forced to leave the field last weekend. He will be hoping that Antonio Sanabria will keep up his good run of form up front.
