Lazio are showing little progress in talks with Tottenham Hotspur for Hugo Lloris, so their focus is turning towards Luigi Sepe instead.
According to Sportitalia, the attempts to negotiate a deal with Spurs for the veteran have proved unsuccessful.
France international Lloris will turn 37 in December and has 145 senior caps for his country.
It had also been suggested that coach Maurizio Sarri was not comfortable with the idea of having such a big name act as understudy to Ivan Provedel.
That is why the Biancocelesti are said to be moving their sights over to someone more suited to spending most of the season on the bench.
Sepe joined Salernitana as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after a six-month loan spell from Parma, but lost first choice status to Guillermo Ochoa in January 2023.
His previous clubs include Napoli, Pisa and Fiorentina, while the shot-stopper has put together 173 Serie A appearances.
