Lazio to rival Roma with EXPO shirt sponsor

Lazio have been given the all-clear to use Rome’s EXPO 2030 campaign on their shirts, in direct opposition to Riyadh sponsoring the Roma jerseys.

The political fallout started almost immediately when the Giallorossi announced they had a new sponsorship deal with Riyadh Season worth €25m per season.

This caused controversy largely because Riyadh and Rome are the two main candidates for the opportunity to host the EXPO 2030 event and a decision will be made soon.

With Roma effectively advertising the direct rivals of the Eternal City, Lazio took a very public stance offering to use the Rome 2030 logo on their own jerseys.

Former Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi announced on Radio Radio that Lazio President Claudio Lotito had agreed to adopt the logo and it should be debuted against Sassuolo.

Lazio are able to do this because they currently do not have a shirt sponsor after the end of their deal with Binance.
