Lazio to close Sculli deal

Lazio are hoping to complete the signing of Genoa striker Giuseppe Sculli this week, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Edy Reja held talks with the 29-year-old last week, but the deals hangs on whether Lazio can sign Sculli outright instead of taking the player on loan.

Il Corriere understands that Lazio President Claudio Lotito is prepared to co-own Sculli at a price of €3.5m. However, his arrival would almost certainly mean the departure of another squad player, the most likely being Mark Bresciano.

Lazio had offered the Australia international midfielder in exchange, but Genoa turned him down.

Lotito is also in the market for another striker after missing out on Roque Santa Cruz, who left Manchester City for Blackburn last week.

The likes of Erjon Bogdani, Tim Matavz and Adam Szalai are all being scouted.
