Lazio and Keita Balde Diao will sign a temporary contract ahead of a move in January.

The relationship between the player and the club turned icy this summer amid mutual accusations of dishonesty, but no deals were found for either a renewal or a transfer.

Now there may be a rapprochement, as Il Messaggero reports that the player is about to sign a new contract. Keita's salary for his remaining time will be €1.5m per year, and his buy-out clause will stand at €25m.

Now there may be a rapprochement, as Il Messaggero reports that the player is about to sign a new contract. Keita's salary for his remaining time will be €1.5m per year, and his buy-out clause will stand at €25m.

The move is made with a transfer in view as early as January, rather than as a long-term deal. It will allow the 21-year-old to gain regular playing time until the market window opens again, whilst giving Lazio leverage to impose the price-tag of the buy-out clause.

Apparently Keita already has a deal with an unspecified club for a transfer, so all that's left for all parties is to make the most of the remaining few months and then bid each other farewell.
