Filip Kostic is pushing hard for a move to Lazio, refusing to attend Eintracht Frankfurt’s training session in protest.

The left-sided winger had agreed personal terms months ago, according to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, but had to wait for Lazio to sell players first.

Mohamed Fares is on the way out, with a €7m deal towards Genoa on the verge of completion.

However, Eintracht Frankfurt have not yet accepted the offer from Lazio and Kostic is getting frustrated.

He took matters into his own hands today by refusing to attend training and the club confirmed he will therefore not be taking part in tomorrow’s Bundesliga match against Arminia Bielefeld.

“Of course Filip’s attitude irritates us a great deal,” sporting director Markus Krosche told BILD.

“We always knew him to be a professional with a solid character, so we are very surprised by this behaviour, especially as he still has a contract with us and there has been no formal offer.

“Eintracht Frankfurt cannot be put under pressure.”

If Lazio do not get Kostic, then they are working on Plan B in the form of Hellas Verona attacking winger Mattia Zaccagni.

His contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he is available for under €10m.
