Lazio target Erik Botheim will undergo his medicals today ahead of a move to FK Krasnodar.

The Biancocelesti have been linked with the 21-year-old Bodø/Glimt striker for some time now but are set to lose out on their man, with the Norwegian forward only a step away from joining the Russian side.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Botheim will undergo his medicals in Germany this afternoon before putting pen to paper on the deal that will see him join FK Krasnodar, with personal terms already agreed.

Lazio will now have to pursue other targets instead, with Maurizio Sarri’s side looking for a new backup striker for Ciro Immobile. Vedat Muriqi, the current incumbent in that role, has failed to convince the 62-year-old Italian coach and so seems destined to leave the club next month.

The 21-year-old Botheim exploded onto the European scene this season with his impressive performances against Jose Mourinho’s Roma. He scored three goals and provided three assists in the two matches against the Giallorossi.
