According to Sky Sport Italia, there is an ongoing meeting at Maurizio Sarri’s home between the Tuscan tactician and Lazio sporting director Igli Tare.

Sarri is still contracted with Juventus, but the Old Lady can terminate the agreement one year before its expiration paying €2.5m.

The former Juventus and Chelsea coach has emerged as the leading candidate to take over at Lazio after that Simone Inzaghi had agreed to join Inter signing a two-year contract.

According to the report, Tare arrived at Sarri’s home in Tuscany this evening and a meeting is currently ongoing.

Lazio need to match Sarri’s economic demands, while the coach believes the current team is competitive enough and just needs a few signings to make a step forward.

According to Sky Sport, Lazio had also contacted Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, but the former defender is not an option anymore.
