Lazio have given an update on Lucas Biglia’s injury, announcing there has been a ‘slight improvement’.

The Aquile captain stretchered off during the 2-1 win over Bologna on Saturday, and it was later confirmed he was suffering from a lesion to the right calf muscle.

“We’ve seen a slight improvement in Lucas Biglia,” team doctor Stefano Salvatori revealed.

“He has started to walk without crutches, but still has the compression bandage applied after his treatment.

“Next week we’ll assess the situation with a new test which will allow us to determine the extent of the muscular injury.”

Salvatori also gave an update on the Biancocelesti’s other injured players, and still can’t estimate a recovery time for Miroslav Klose.

“Klose has started his recovery program. Next week we’ll do tests to determine his recovery time.

“[Federico] Marchetti is completely stopped [with broken ribs], he’s only working on lower body exercises in the gym.

“As for Filip Djordjevic, we’ve seen further improvement, he’s meeting targets without setbacks, and on Thursday we’ll be able to give a recovery time.”
