Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will only be sold to Al-Hilal if Lazio receive €40m cash net, but he could fly out for a medical within 24 hours.

The situation went from practically nothing to done deal incredibly quickly on Monday.

Linked with Juventus, Inter and clubs in Europe including Arsenal, nobody was prepared to pay the €40m asking price.

That changed today when Al-Hilal came in with the proposal and Milinkovic-Savic agreed to personal terms worth a reported €20m per season on a four-year contract.

However, Sky Sport Italia warn this evening that the agreement is not quite done yet, because Lazio contacted Al-Hilal demanding €40m net in cash.

That means no bonuses, add-ons or taxes taking away from the fee that they have set.

It is because of that asking price with only a year left to run on his contract that put off all the other clubs in the running for Milinkovic-Savic.

Nonetheless, it was a real surprise that the Serbia international was so eager to make the move to the Saudi Pro League at the age of 28, especially as Lazio are in the Champions League this season.

20 million a year for 4 years is a good persuader.
