New Coach Vladimir Petkovic is set to welcome his first arrival at Lazio, as the club reach the final stages of negotiations for Trabzonspor’s Burak Yilmaz.
Reports in Italy suggest that talks between the Biancocelesti and the Turkish side have been going on for the past month and are now at an advanced stage, with a deal set to be concluded.
The 26-year-old subject of these talks is striker Yilmaz, who last season netted 33 goals for the Super Lig side, from 34 League appearances.
In total, the well-built but pacey attacker has scored 55 goals from 75 games played in all competitions for Trabzonspor, since joining them in 2010.
Capped 12 times for Turkey so far, Yilmaz is understood to have a €5m rescission clause in his current contract and according to reports in his home country, has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Lazio.
The player, who has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, has reportedly been offered a €2m-a-year-plus-bonuses contract until 2017 by the Olimpico outfit.
