According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio will send an improved bid for Sunderland winger Jack Clarke but are still considering a loan move for Bryan Gil but only if the deal comes with no obligation to buy.

The Biancocelesti want a new attacking winger but are running out of time as the winter transfer window in Serie A shuts today at 19:00 GMT.

Thursday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper claims Lazio will send an improved bid to Sunderland for Clarke today after their opening €16m offer was rejected.

The two clubs are unlikely to shake hands today given that the English side value the 23-year-old at €25m. It is reported that Sunderland would rather keep the Englishman until June, when they predict receive higher offers from Premier League clubs.

According to Gazzetta, Lazio are not entirely convinced about Morgan Whittaker (Plymouth) and Jonathan Rowe (Norwich), while Tottenham‘s Bryan Gil remains an option for Maurizio Sarri’s side, but only if Spurs agree to send the Spaniard out on a dry loan deal with no obligation to buy.
