Lazio are ready to let Piotr Zielinski follow Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Saudi Arabia, so their next target is Besiktas midfielder Gedson Fernandes.

The Aquile completed the paperwork today to sell Milinkovic-Savic to Al-Hilal and the Serbian is set to undergo a medical tomorrow morning in their training retreat in Austria.

The deal is worth €40m net and some of that will be reinvested in his replacement, but first choice Zielinski of Napoli is also fielding a huge salary proposal from the Saudi Pro League, specifically Al-Ahli.

According to Sportitalia, Lazio will not try to compete with that, so are instead ready to look at the next name down on the list.

It is Portugal international Gedson Fernandes, a 24-year-old who moved from Benfica to Besiktas last summer for €6m.

He is well-travelled, also having experiences at Tottenham Hotspur, Galatasaray and Caykur Rizespor.

While Napoli are demanding €20m for Zielinski, it would be considerably cheaper to get Gedson Fernandes at circa €12-15m.
