There was very worrying news for Lazio, as Ciro Immobile limped off following an apparent thigh strain and looked distraught.

The striker had already been in doubt for this game due to a knock to his ankle, but started against Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico.

It seemed to be a muscular issue, as Immobile pulled up by himself 29 minutes into the Serie A match and immediately limped away to the touchline without waiting for treatment or an evaluation from the medical staff.

The Italy international appeared to be very upset, which suggests the injury is a serious one.

Immobile is 32 years old and has been very prolific this season, scoring six Serie A goals and one in the Europa League, plus five assists for his teammates.

Injuries are quite rare for the Naples-born centre-forward, who was the Serie A Capocannoniere last season, scoring 27 goals in 31 appearances.

Maurizio Sarri has a packed fixture list between Serie A and the Europa League, and no real replacement for Immobile, largely using Pedro as a False 9.
