Lazio reportedly set Milinkovic-Savic price-tag

Lazio have reportedly decided to sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer for €80m with interest from PSG, Manchester United, Inter and Juventus.

The midfielder has been sought-after for years and Lazio President Claudio Lotito always resisted letting him go, with nobody able to meet the €120m asking price.

According to Il Messaggero newspaper, the situation has changed and the club needs a big sale to boost the transfer coffers and sign the kind of players Maurizio Sarri needs for his style of football.

The cost of the Serbia international has also dropped to circa €80m, as his current contract runs to June 2024 and a renewal seems unlikely.

Therefore, this would be the last summer Lazio could sell and still make a massive profit on Milinkovic-Savic.

He is now 27 and reaching the peak of his career, this season contributing eight goals and 10 assists in 29 competitive games for Lazio.

SMS was signed from KRC Genk in 2015 for €12m plus bonuses.

Lazio would prefer to sell abroad rather than within Italy, to avoid reinforcing their rivals, although Inter and Juventus would struggle to meet that asking price anyway.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United remain the favourites, with Real Madrid also believed to be interested.
