Lazio have reportedly decided to sell Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer for €80m with interest from PSG, Manchester United, Inter and Juventus.

The midfielder has been sought-after for years and Lazio President Claudio Lotito always resisted letting him go, with nobody able to meet the €120m asking price.

According to Il Messaggero newspaper, the situation has changed and the club needs a big sale to boost the transfer coffers and sign the kind of players Maurizio Sarri needs for his style of football.

The cost of the Serbia international has also dropped to circa €80m, as his current contract runs to June 2024 and a renewal seems unlikely.

Therefore, this would be the last summer Lazio could sell and still make a massive profit on Milinkovic-Savic.

He is now 27 and reaching the peak of his career, this season contributing eight goals and 10 assists in 29 competitive games for Lazio.

SMS was signed from KRC Genk in 2015 for €12m plus bonuses.

Lazio would prefer to sell abroad rather than within Italy, to avoid reinforcing their rivals, although Inter and Juventus would struggle to meet that asking price anyway.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United remain the favourites, with Real Madrid also believed to be interested.

  1. He needs to show some ambition and leave the Italian farmers league. EPL suits him pretty well. Juve and the Milan clubs can’t afford him and he’s too good for them anyway.

  2. 80 mil won’t get us much! ! 😂 that would get us two or three players of just above average quality 😂

  3. PSG is the only club that will pay that amount.

I don’t EPL would suit him tbh. He would struggle with the pace and tempo there

He definitely won’t go to inter lol, they barely have 80€ let alone 80m€

  4. What is this ‘farmers’ league’ nonsense? I see this a lot, whether Italy, Spain, Germany, and often France, it seems. Which leads me to think it’s foolish PL fans spouting off, again. Might consider that the English leagues have involved shall we say ‘agricultural’ football for most of their history. And still do, frankly.

  5. Too much for 27 years old, you wont get much resale value. Furthermore, he no longer perform as good as before

  6. Well Mike, he’s a big fish in a small pond at Lazio and he is overrated which means some idiotic EPL club will, as always, overspend for him

  7. He already peaked and is running downhill. Any bid higher than 40m(50m for psg) is ridiculous. Let him rot like Bellotti.

  8. He would be a great addition to that stale Juventus midfield but PhD Max would instantly turn him into a brick layer. Go for Krunic a cheaper stone grinder lol.

  9. I wouldn’t even want Ac Milan paying 30m for him.. His performances has dropped compared to few years ago and he’s a lot older now.. Lazio made the same mistake Torino made on Belotti.. Sell for 100m and strengthen your team with a few millions and they refused as if one player was going to make them a top team ( learn from Atlanta😂) they sell anybody and buy good replacement or even better replacements with a few millions 😂
